One Earth Future Foundation: Internship Information for 2012-2013
About Our Foundation:
OEF's vision is a world beyond war, achieved by the development of new and effective systems of cooperation, coordination, and decision making, i.e. "governance". We believe that nation states cannot solve global conflicts on their own. We have witnessed this limitation in issues such as maritime piracy, state failure, and outbreaks of mass atrocities. OEF believes that business and civil society have an important role to play in filling governance gaps, in partnership with nation states. When these three sectors partner together, they can achieve effective, equitable solutions to global problems that can prevent war.
OEF currently has five major programs:
• Oceans Beyond Piracy
• Responsibility to Protect
• Core Knowledge (Research and Development)
• Business Initiatives
OEF Internship Opportunities:
1. Ocean Beyond Piracy Policy/Law Interns (3 – 4 Summer 2013 positions available)
2. Shuraako Program Intern: Business and Investment in Somalia/Somaliland (1-2 positions available, both currently and in Summer 2013)
3. Research and Development Intern (1 Summer 2013 position available)
$400 - $600 USD per week, commensurate to education, work and other related experience.
