Election violence spiked worldwide in 2020 – will this year be better?

ONN analysts Dr. Clayton Besaw and Matthew Frank have published their most recent analysis on the election violence in 2020 and their predictions for similar events ahead in 2021. The data shows that the year 2020 saw more election-related violence than any year in the past four decades and, according to the authors, “election-related violence will persist for the foreseeable future. In democracies and nondemocracies alike, strategic attacks serve those who have power and want to keep it.”
